ContentWatch Statement on Recent State and Corporate Initiatives to Stem ...
The following is a statement by Russ Warner, CEO of ContentWatch, Maker of Net Nanny:
As a company on a mission to help eliminate cyber-bullying in schools and homes, ContentWatch applauds the recent initiatives of the State of California along with a partnership between Facebook and Time Warner Inc. to help stem the flow of cyber-bullying.
The California State Legislature recently passed Assembly Bill 746 ( http://bit.ly/pY0oCi ) making posts on social networks for the purpose of bullying grounds for suspension or expulsion from school.
California will have some help in the fight. Facebook and Time Warner announced they have teamed up to help in bullying prevention with a joint initiative called Stop Bullying: Speak up .
Bullying in all of its forms treads on the rights of children to attend schools in a safe and secure environment, free from negative threats or discrimination. As cyber-bullying increases with the proliferation of online social networks, ContentWatch believes parents, school officials, government agencies and corporations have a responsibility to do all they can to protect the rights of school children.
In addition to the bill and other initiatives there are many simple ways parents can contribute to the Internet safety of their children. A list of precautions, including good practice suggestions and electronic aids, is available for parents at http://bit.ly/m3CX1x .

If you are going to say its illegal then don’t answer(because my school is not run by a government agency it is not illegal and the worst I can get for using a proxy is loss of computer privileges and that would be my problem) I do NOT ask questions to get lecture’s about them, so if u want to be a smartass then go ahead but I just remember no matter what u people say i will not change my mind about this. You can’t get past the blocks legally using a proxy because circumventing a computer security system is a federal crime. You might want to delude yourself into thinking it’s all legal but the fact is it’s not. Since your school is likely run by a government agency you are also likely breaking numerous other laws. The worst thing that can happen is that you infect your schools system with a series of malicious bots, hackers use your schools system to do some crime and the FBI comes knocking at your door. Not likely, but that is the worst thing that could happen. (The FBI this is not a federal offense because if it was then most everyone in America would be in jail) 1) Circumventing your School Firewall or Hacking it is illegal.

Please beware that malicious responders post fake links in the security forum if you click on one of them you could infect your School systems with a dropper virus you should be aware that you assume full responsibility if this happens your Parents will get the expensive bill for any and all repairs.
