Top ten unusual used cars for £7k - we take the Top Gear challenge
Did you ever dream of owning a Nissan Pixo? Probably not, which is why on last Sunday’s episode of BBC show Top Gear, presenters Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond set out to prove there are some amazing cars to be had for £6,995 or under - the same price as a new Pixo.
Having looked at a range of cars, including a Porsche 911, Jeremy Clarkson opted for a Mercedes CL600 and Richard Hammond a BMW 8 Series.
As Top Gear showed, purchasing a premium motor doesn’t mean that you have to fork out a substantial amount of money.
So, in a bid to prove that the used car market is littered with amazing deals on luxury or interesting cars that are a bit long in the tooth, This is Money has teamed up with Motors.co.uk to compile a list of the best used vehicles for under £7,000. (Follow the link with each to see how it is really for sale.)
Rolls Royce
A beautiful vintage Roller has to make an appearance on this list. Is there a better car for practicing your royal wave, or cruising along winding country lanes on a pleasant British summer’s evening?
This is an affordable second hand Rolls Royce to purchase that looks like it belongs in an Agatha Christie novel (£6,995 here ).
Of course, what this article fails to mention is that most of these cars will cost a fortne to run in comparison to the Pixo - the Rolls will use 3 times as much petrol for every mile, plus insurance, maintenance, tax etc. And if something goes seriously wrong with any of these cars they will become worthless due to the enormous repair cost. The only one in reasonable distance of all these is probably the Mazda MX5, which must be reliable and affordable to run.
Cars Used In Movies - News

If this car were human, it would be a beer swigging, chicks-in-bikinis loving American on a muscle flexing rampage. Live out your high school dream (the one from the movies, not the one where you grew up in Godalming) in this motor (£5995 here).
Because of the busy traffic, not many movies and TV shows are allowed to film on the freeway or bridge, or anywhere near the Sepulveda Pass. Film LA's Philip Sokoloski said his office doesn't have jurisdiction to issue permits on the freeway,

Their memories are bolstered by evocative 8 mm home movies shot by Milligan's dad. Ford, which declined to be interviewed for the film, opened its massive Mahwah assembly plant in 1955. Besides cars, it produced 6000 gallons of paint sludge a day.
The legislation, which calls for forfeiture of the vehicles used in such situations, was sponsored by Onslow County Rep. Phil Shepard, and passed unanimously through both the House and Senate. Known as the “Run and You're Done” law, and supported by

But younger fans will buy tie-in posters, CDs and stuffed animals — which is why merchandising for films is no longer an afterthought, but part of what gets the movie greenlit. Yes, "Cars 2" was supposedly a Pixar passion project — but would they
Screen-used DeLorean from BACK TO THE FUTURE on display at Comic-Con!
Movies? Sadly, some of them no longer exist and others are in need of extensive work. Of the seven cars used over the three movies, only three original cars are thought to still exist. Presented by Profiles in History, the famed auction house that represented the Debbie Reynolds Collection this summer, one of those screen used DeLoreans will be at Comic-Con 2011 for public viewing in conjunction with Team Fox benefitting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The main goal is to give fans the opportunity to see and be photographed in the car. For a $20 donation to the Foundation you can be photographed in the DeLorean with all proceeds going to Team Fox.
Profiles in History is proud to present the original DeLorean Time Machine driven by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future III television show hosted by Joe Maddalena. Joe and his staff will be at the booth in person to greet fans, and share these rare pieces of history. In conjunction with Team Fox, this is a rare opportunity to get your pictures taken with the original Time Machine.
The Time Machine will be available for viewing during advertised Comic-Con show hours, and will be in a future Profiles in History auction later this year, with a portion of the proceeds going to Team Fox benefitting The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Previously it could be seen at the San Diego Air & Space Museum.
