An 18-year-old Sammamish woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being pulled over for cutting off a police officer on 228th Avenue.

An officer had to slow down in order to avoid hitting the woman’s car as she pulled onto the road. The woman at first said she was sober, then admitted to having drank one shot of vodka that night before admitting that it was closer to three or four shots of vodka. She gave a portable breath test that showed an estimated blood alcohol level of .11. She was brought to Issaquah Jail to be fingerprinted and then had a friend pick her up.

A Sammamish woman reported June 23 that she had more than $700 stolen from her bank account over the several days prior. The unauthorized charges included a diamond store and Walmart.com.

A 45-year-old Sammamish woman is under investigation for driving under the influence after getting into an accident near the corner of Northeast 8th Street and 228th Avenue Northeast June 21. Police responded to the scene at around 12:30 p.m. and found the woman to be unsteady on her feet and showing signs of intoxication.

She told police that she had her last drink at around 12:30 a.m. the night before and that she was on blood pressure medication. The woman performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a .05 during a breath test.

Though that is under the legal limit for driving, police took a blood sample from the woman to determine whether she was under the influence of more than alcohol. Depending on the result of that test, the woman could face a DUI charge. The case remains under investigation.

A resident on the 2700 block of 221st Avenue Northeast reported that their license plate had been stolen off the back of their vehicle sometime between June 16 and June 20.

They told police that the plate had been taken once before earlier in the year and that it had been bolted securely and could not have fallen off.

Police contacted a resident on the 2800 block of 230th Avenue who had left their garage door open at around 11:40 p.m. June 18. The resident agreed to close their door. Police did the same with a second resident on the 3000 block of 230th Place Northeast shortly after.
