City bus hits pole, knocks out power
Phoenix police say a sedan that made an unsafe lane change collided with a minivan, sending the van into a Valley Metro bus that careened into a power pole.
The impact took down power lines at 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road and draped the hot wires right over the bus.
Paramedics treated one woman in the minivan for a cut to her arm from broken glass, according to Capt. Scott Walker of the Phoenix Fire Department.
Two passengers aboard the bus were not hurt, Walker said. Five other people in the minivan also escaped injury.
Police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson says the 66-year-old man in the sedan drove off and police later found and arrested him.
Salt River Project said that 1,300 customers could be without power for as long as 8 hours.

Police called after customer threatens Salt River employees ...
Bardstown Police were called to Salt River Electric on Brashear Avenue after a customer whose electric service was to be disconnected threatened to shoot a representative for the utility at his home and threatened employees at the main office. The incident took place just before noon on Wednesday. Officers from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the individual’s home to question him about the threats. The man subsequently paid the utiliyt bill and was warned about making threat.
